You can control the temperature of your fire and he turns into ice but isn't always made out of it - he's also basically immortal.

Over the years he... kept evolving. He can turn himself completely into some kind of live ice. When he's injured he can turn back to that, pull moisture out of the air and use it to heal himself. Turns back and the ice is now just his flesh.
