there was this camp we got shipped off to last year they collared us it de-powered us felt way too close to home and what the humans wanna do to us i freaked out like it fucked me up real bad to be disconnected from my mutation like that i burned my hands trying to control fire it took me a long time to even start to get over that that's one of my fears being powerless to even protect myself from people who want to hurt me
Given crap parents and the number of people who want us dead, that's a pretty solid fear.
I've heard about various incidents of them depowering people. Sounds terrible.
For what its worth the blindfold cuts off the optic blasts. It scares me when it's necessity, but even there.... that's the visible part of the mutation. It's not part that losing would create the biggest problem for me.
