i'd say lots of parents got issues with having a mutant for a kid but that shit had been going on long before i found out i was one that was just the cherry on the cake least i could finally fight back
I think there's probably more subtlety than that - even for the knife and it sometimes being what's keeping you from bleeding out - but overall I said I wouldn't judge and I'm glad you did something to make life suck less.
