I just thought I would check in, given the ripple effect of recent events.

I'm sorry that I did not check sooner. That was careless of me.

Just a moment or three.

[ Because now he's got to find a housewarming gift, at least something small to tide things over until he can think on it a little more.

It's three minutes or so, and Kurt appears on Scott's stoop with a small, potted plant, something akin to a Venus fly trap. If there is a bell, he rings. If not, he simply knocks. ]

Scott opens the door for Kurt and steps back to let him in.

"I fucked up. I won't do it if I move again." A pause. "I don't anticipate moving again." The house is run down as is typical for the Down, but it's fairly spacious, has no carpet and is ruthlessly clean.

"Well. One never knows here, hm?" The house might be destroyed in some manner of disaster or under gang activity, though Duplicity does have a tendency to bounce back from things. That thought goes unvoiced so as to not invite it to happen.

He hands Scott the little plant with a smile and a 'neat, huh?' sort of nod, and he wanders past the threshold to start looking around.

"It is a small matter, easily resolved. Do not worry over it."

"I'll worry about what I want."

He's joking but also not. He sets the plant on the kitchen counter and then turns back to Kurt. "Do you know Midnighter?"

"Not well," Kurt answers, simply enough, as he casually tests the walkability (crawlability?) of Scott's new walls. "I met him at the last Scratch party. Charming fellow."

You make yourself at home, Kurt. Scott's gonna start coffee. "He's got an unhealthy for Logan obsession with Logan. He also lives here, as much as he lives anywhere, now."

"Ah."

These are both bits of news to him. The former perhaps by design, he supposes, depending on the degree of the fixation, though it's just as likely his association with Logan is of no consequence at all. Kurt, now on the ceiling, hums thoughtfully.

"As your own Submissive, I take it. Or is it just because?" Either way... "Is that a good idea?"

Scott tilts his head up so he can continue to watch Kurt, but he is pretty comfortable with Kurt crawling around the place. Hell, maybe it'll make it easier for Kurt to teleport in or out.

"We contracted." 'My submissive' sounds possessive in a way Scott doesn't actually feel, even if it's accurate. "And I don't know if it's a good idea but I don't think it's a bad one. What would your concerns be?"

Because Logan hates it, but Scott's pretty sure Logan would hate Scott contracted to anyone but Jean and certainly for the reasons Scott keeps contracting people.

"Just the proximity, I suppose, or... Naturally, any potential troubles may depend on the nature of the obsession and the nature of your relationship with this fellow. It just seems a tricky prospect to sponsor a man who has a fixation on your..."

Kurt's at least a little certain that Scott wouldn't label Logan as his 'boyfriend,' so he searches for words a moment and lands on-- "Significant other?"

Anyway... "As I said, he was quite charming when I met him. Perhaps he is harmless. I couldn't say."

Scott doesn't know what to call Logan, either. Jean periodically refers to him as 'their husband' but that is absolutely not descriptive, boyfriend is wrong, Logan has a billion other relationships that are definitely caring and romantic and that's fine with Scott but also makes the role he has in Logan's life real damn hard to label.

Mostly, that all comes together to mean he ignores it and takes the meaning and carries on.

He shrugs, slightly. "He isn't hard to keep some kind of control over, I like him and the sex is fairly good. He isn't harmless but there's nothing he can do that's going to hurt me and having him close means I can act like a buffer with the Logan shit and allow Logan to engage or not as he wants."

"It seems you're sorted, then."

Simple enough, all of it. Or, at least, Scott is keen to present it as simple enough, and Kurt is fine to take that at face value until given a reason to do otherwise.

Now... He did intend to check with with other matters in mind, didn't he? Still lightly, he asks, "And everything else?"

Scott's trying to be more transparent with Kurt for... a lot of reasons. At least when it comes to decision making. It's going... weirdly, probably, but an attempt is being made.

"I'm not even sure what that's in reference to."

Lots and lots of options, there.

Is that avoidance, or is it just the sheer scope of everything? Either is perfectly plausible, and Kurt isn't even sure which he'd rather assume. God, what else has he missed? In what further manner is he somewhere between dense and clueless?

"Dick, I suppose, and how that's treated our general circle. Sentinels. Other living nightmares. Whatever other horrible thing I'm forgetting."

"Nate and Wade got chased down by the Sentinels, but managed to get away. A friend from the reality where those generated wasn't so lucky. He's alive again now, though. Logan is completely off the rails, and I know Jason checked in with you about the impact Logan's shit was having on him." Something about talking to Kurt about the pet sitting.

Look, he's just being informational. "I'm okay. Nothing hit me directly. I'm pretty sure Logan mostly needs to... vent it. How are you?"

"I'm fine," Kurt answers, which isn't untrue. Things really are winding down, he's fairly sure, and his attempts to alleviate various crumblings have slowed and eased and paused. He just feels a little tired in the wake of it, and he still worries over what is or isn't coming next.

The past couple of days have been quiet, though, perhaps partially the result of the event at Fangtasy. He's been napping, sleeping in, and minding his own damn business.

"I talked to Logan a little bit ago. I think the issue between him and Jason will be mended. I hope, at least, that it will not drag on." And that's that, basically. He hopes that his having heard little from Logan since means that the thing's been done already, and to success. Anyway...

"John?"

He definitely assumes that Logan is at that party, along with both his submissives. Hopefully it works out well for all of them. He got his own invitation but this is not something he wants to be involved in.

Mostly because of the amount of shit likely being worked out of systems there.

He tilts his head slightly at Kurt, a little surprised - and immediately realizes he shouldn't be - that Kurt knows the guy. "Yes, John. I didn't think he was interacting much with... us." Mutants from their reality, "but I should have known you'd know him."

"We've spoken a few times. I don't know him terribly well, but he did text me to warn me about the sentinels." An alarming heads-up, but appreciated nonetheless. "I am sorry to hear he suffered that fate."

But at least he got better?
