I can't believe what I am about to tell you is actually the truth, but it is:

I'm not the one who isn't ready to deal with it. We've talked some but I have had years to think through some of the shit that was causing us to fall apart to start with. She died and then showed up here. We've talked some. We will probably talk more.

She is who doesn't want to deal with it more directly right now.

when Laura got taken back, we were gonna go for breakfast. we were gonna go and eat together and then she was gonna walk over to the gym with me like she always did

I know. I'm sorry about Laura. I'm glad my kids aren't here, but I might lose what's left of my mind if I had them show and up and leave again.

We're working on it. There's a lot to work on, but we should be working harder.

Maybe suggest we starting using text to communicate more. It seems to be working for me.

Apocalypse destroyed me, and I didn't have a whole lot of 'me' to destroy. I'm not entirely sure what I built back into since then, though Emma might have a pretty good idea.

But it isn't who Jean remembers - from before Apocalypse or immediately before she died.

We'll get something solid back. It won't be what we were before that.
