Scott smiles, faint but with real amusement. Not mockery, just amusement. Some of it ironic, some of it understanding, none of it mean just...

Which... He can provide for Logan and Logan has provided for him, but also:

"Well, yes, there's that," Kurt returns with a similar laugh to his last. Has he plucked at the wrong thread? Little matter, either way.

"It arises from what cannot be changed, doesn't it? I have worried over it, too, and I have nudged here and there and attempted to tidy up, but... The resolution is pending, ja? It's frustrating."

There is so much, everything just on the edge of crumbling, and the best he can provide for it himself is patience, steadiness, support. It feels so little, and he worries further that he's misjudged any moves he might make. Is it truly the wisest thing to observe and soothe, or is it some for of cowardice on his part? What else is there, even?

"It is a little while yet until things move forward, one way or the other."

For as many problems as they all have, and as much desire to help each other--

There's an equal amount of not wanting to impose with that help, much less accept it when it would help each other.

They're all a mess.

"Yeah. Do you want to stay here tonight or would you rather be alone?"

The invitation is unexpected, surprising in a way that settles warm and tingly and pleasant. It's that warmth, realizing that he's feeling a positive reaction to the offer, that stops him short of automatically begging off for that same fear of imposition.

"I would appreciate company, I think, if that it truly fine. It has been quiet, lately. Subdued. A little background noise or conversation might do me some good."

Should anything go sideways, if that's possible, he is easily-departed company, if nothing else.

If anything goes sideways, it will be something they'll deal with. If things go sideways with Logan...

They'll be in one place to deal with it easier.

"I wouldn't have asked you to stay if it weren't at least fine. It's too quiet here, too and I'd like your company."
