there was this camp we got shipped off to last year
they collared us
it de-powered us
felt way too close to home and what the humans wanna do to us
i freaked out
like
it fucked me up real bad to be disconnected from my mutation like that
i burned my hands trying to control fire
it took me a long time to even start to get over that
that's one of my fears
being powerless to even protect myself from people who want to hurt me
